Care After Use

To Prevent Stains and Odors
Since earthenware is porous, even pieces that have been seasoned may gradually absorb cooking liquids or oil. This can cause odors, stains, or mold. After use, gently wash the piece with a soft sponge as soon as possible, remove all dirt, and allow it to dry completely before storing. As a guideline, let it dry for about a day and a half.

When stains get absorbed into the ware
No matter how carefully you use your tableware, stains may still appear over time. This is part of the vessel’s natural role as a tool for serving food. Depending on the type of stain, it may not be possible to remove it completely once it has set. However, light stains or mold can be reduced by using a diluted kitchen bleach solution.

When Your Dishware Retains Odors
Soak the item in a solution made by mixing 4 tablespoons of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of vinegar per 1 liter of water.
*Adjust the amount of baking soda and vinegar depending on the strength of the odor.
How to Remove Tarnish (Silver Sulfide) on Ginsai products
The Ginsai series uses high-purity silver. As a result, exposure to air can cause tarnishing and darkening. Even if the items are not used for a long time, they will gradually tarnish. To minimize tarnishing when not in use, make sure the pieces are thoroughly dried, then wrap the silvered surfaces with a cloth or plastic wrap to reduce exposure to air. (Please note: this method only helps with tarnish caused by silver sulfide. Stains from oils or other food residues, as well as scratches, cannot be removed.)
