Using in Microwave, Oven, and Dishwasher

About microwave use
A microwave oven heats and cooks food by exposing it to electromagnetic radiation in the microwave frequency range. In most cases, water content such as moisture or fluids of the food are heated. However, microwave frequency may focus on burnt or carbonized parts of the food. This will create a drastic temperature gap within the ware to break or to be damaged. Microwave heats both water and oil. Compared to water, oil has a higher boiling point and may lead to drastic temperature gaps within the food which may break or damage the ware.

- Precautions

  • Before using the microwave, wipe off moisture or water on the surface of the ware.

  • Do not soak in water or place it on a cold kitchen counter while the wares are still hot from the microwave. Avoid heating frozen food and wares straight from refrigerator to microwave. Sudden or drastic temperature changes will cause crazing or damage.

  • tems with gold / silver over glaze or particular glazes are NOT MICROWAVE SAFE. Please check the NOT Microwave Safe stickers on items that are not to be used in the microwave.

About oven use for items
Products with Material Numbers 3, 6, 8, and 9 are designated as oven-safe. Each item is placed in a 270°C oven for 7 minutes, then allowed to cool to room temperature, and visually inspected for cracks or crazing. Only items that pass this inspection are considered oven-safe. To minimize stress on the products, please follow the precautions below when using them.

- Precautions

  • Before placing in the oven, please wipe off any moisture on the surface.

  • After removing the hot dish from the oven, do not immerse it in water or place it on a cold countertop. Also, avoid heating frozen food in it or putting a dish straight from the refrigerator into the oven. Sudden temperature changes may cause cracking or breakage.

  • Do not use metal scrubbers or similar tools to clean burnt-on food or heavy stains from cooking. Doing so may scratch the surface.

About Dishwasher Use
Most ceramics absorb moisture. Even if the surface appears dry, there may still be water inside the vessel. To prevent mold or odors, please remove items promptly after using a dishwasher and allow them to dry thoroughly in a well-ventilated area (typically overnight to a full day). Also, be aware that water pressure inside the dishwasher may cause the items to collide and break.

- How to identify the applicable product(s)

  • For products that, due to their material, glaze, or technique, have a higher risk of damage or other issues, we attach the above “NG” sticker for easy identification.

  • Please refer to the icons displayed on each product page in our webstore.
